Greenchar Launches Biochar Project in Jiaxing, China

We’re excited to share that from July 14–19, 2025, our team successfully commissioned a WasteX Carbonizer at our partner facility in Jiaxing, China. This marks a major milestone to obtaining Carbon Standards International Certification, and for us to become a certified C-Sink Manager, to issue carbon credits from biochar.

This marks a major milestone in our mission to turn agricultural residues into climate-positive solutions. Powered by bamboo and wood chips, the system is now fully operational — delivering:

• 144 tons of biomass processed per year

• 50 tons of high-quality biochar

• ~100 carbon credits generated annually

• ~USD 10,000/year in carbon credit revenue

Beyond the numbers, this project demonstrates our commitment to sustainable agriculture and carbon removal. Biochar produced here will help improve soil fertility, boost crop productivity, and permanently store carbon in the ground — creating value for both farmers and the planet.

The commissioning process included performance tuning to meet China’s strict emission standards, ensuring clean, efficient operation from day one. With the foundation now laid, we’re ready to scale production and explore more feedstocks for even greater impact.
