Advancing Cross-Border Collaboration in Low-Carbon Innovation
Greenchar Climate Solutions was honored to participate in the second edition of the Tianjin-Singapore Eco-City Green Development Exchange Week, co-hosted by the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Administrative Committee, SSTEC Development Co., Ltd., and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). The event was jointly organized by TusStar Tianjin and the SUTD Eco-City Innovation Centre, with the goal of accelerating high-potential Singaporean startups into China’s green innovation ecosystem.
Our participation was proudly featured in China Daily and major news platforms and broadcast networks across China — marking a key milestone in Greenchar’s expanding national visibility in green technology, biochar innovation, and carbon finance.

Greenchar: Carbon Tech for a Greener Rural China
At the low-carbon showcase event held at the SSTEC Low-Carbon Experience Center, Greenchar presented its biochar-based carbon credit and soil regeneration model, which helps turn agricultural waste into carbon-negative assets — including certified carbon credits and regenerative agricultural inputs.

As Part of the Exchange
Greenchar was honored to join a curated group of five Singaporean deep-tech startups selected for their market readiness in China. During the exchange, we presented how biochar can be applied not only in regenerative agriculture, but also in industrial decarbonization — transforming organic waste into verified carbon assets to support China’s dual-carbon goals.
We introduced our 200,000-hectare biochar scale-up roadmap across the Yangtze River Delta and engaged in productive meetings with Tianjin-based partners, investors, and government officials. These discussions focused on how Greenchar’s platform can help local governments and businesses monetize waste, reduce emissions, and accelerate access to international carbon markets through carbon certification and MRV integration.
Collaboration & Recognition
The event was attended and supported by:
Vice District Governor of Binhai New Area, Mr. Shi Jijun
Deputy Director of SSTEC Admin Committee, Ms. Li Jing
CEO of SSTEC Co., Mr. Zhang Yongchang
Singapore Ministry of National Development (Eco-City Office) Chief Rep, Mr. Teo Swee Wei
SUTD Innovation Division Directors and Investment Leaders

Our fellow startups — including Castomize, Spinoff Robotics, Staple, Wefaa, and Betterdata — also presented their solutions across sectors like medtech, robotics, AI, and fintech. We are especially proud to witness Castomize sign three MOUs with local hospitals, demonstrating the real potential of Singapore-China collaboration.

Greenchar’s Mission in China
“Greenchar is here to bridge international innovation with China’s carbon economy transformation — empowering rural landowners, local governments, and sustainability leaders to turn waste into certified carbon assets.”
With the support of platforms like TusStar, SUTD, and SSTEC, Greenchar is actively exploring opportunities to:
Deploy biochar MRV and carbon certification services in eco-industrial parks and agricultural zones
Support China’s rural revitalization and zero-carbon countryside programs
Collaborate with public and private stakeholders to establish scalable, verifiable, and investable biochar pilot projects across Tianjin and beyond

What’s Next?
Greenchar will continue dialogue with SSTEC partners and potential local collaborators in both Tianjin and Beijing. We are excited to contribute to China’s carbon neutrality agenda through our one-stop biochar carbon platform, and look forward to expanding impact through verified projects, strong partnerships, and carbon financing.
If you’re interested in partnering with us to deploy biochar projects in Tianjin or other Eco-City pilot zones, we welcome your outreach.
